Maia Steinberg

Maia Steinberg is a Uruguayan professional music composer, sound designer, classical singer, community artist and cultural entrepreneur based in The Netherlands. She is the founder and director of Project A - A voice journey, an artistic company that creates projects in the intersection of vocal art and social impact.

My driving will is the desire to contribute to society as an artist, using the power of vocal art and interdisciplinary creation to empower people, build bridges and create inspiring projects. With Project A - A voice journey, I create a lot of different projects that range from wellbeing song concerts & gatherings to immersive sound experiences and community performances. I strongly believe in the power of music to connect and empower people, and this is what I want to bring to the world.

My dream projects are related to create community opera projects, wellbeing song concerts and interdisciplinary performances that connect people with themselves, others and the world around us. While I work towards this goal/dream, I am currently working in the following projects:

-Immersive sound experiences with the A SONIC OASIS ensemble

-Community programs: Neighborhood song exchanges (ZANGBUURT) and interdisciplinary co-creative projects (VOICES OF THE EARTH)

-Wellbeing & sacred song concerts and folklore music concerts (Tango and Argentina/Uruguayan folklore) in traditional venues and in healthcare centers all over the Netherlands.

-Interdisciplinary performances & new operas.

-Soundtrack creation for theater pieces, audiovisuals, interdisciplinary projects and others. Sound design. 

-Meditation and song gatherings.
